Ms.
Magnificent
AAA 1/2
Reviewed by Jared Rutter
Producer Damon Christian, who specialized in wacky sex comedies,
rashly titled this comic book takeoff Superwoman. Threatened with
copyright infringement, he had to change the title after the film
was in the can, plus bleep the name from the soundtrack and
fuzz-blur the S logo on the heroines uniform. Its a truly tacky
production, with cheesy sets and rudimentary effects, but its fun, a
reminder that even Golden Age B-movies could be entertaining. There
are amusing lines, good tongue in cheek performances from an A-list
West Coast cast and fairly hot
sex. Delectable Deseree Cousteau plays the newspaper reporter who
turns into world-saver, with Mike Horner as boyfriend Clark Click.
But the show belongs to Jesie St. James, whos both funny and hot as
arch-villainess Kreeta Borgia, who descends from outer space with a
fiendish plan to conquer the universe.
